The project was part funded by MACBI, a committee set up by local community members. Other funding was provided by Lottery, The Robertson Trust, Scottish Rural Development Programme and Aberdeenshire Council.
Since completion the centre has been fully utilised, not just by the local residents, but also by other others from throughout the Buchan area who visit on a regular basis and have expressed great approval. With the Multi Gym in full use and a full programme of events including Badminton, Ladies Keep Fit Classes, Mothers and Toddlers Groups and various meeting by local community groups held in the Meeting Rooms.
Since opening, the centre has proved to be an extremely successful self-funding business providing employment to the local community.
